Advising for direct BS/MD, BA/MD and BS/DO admissions — programs that take a student from a bachelor's degree straight into medical school, in 6, 7, or 8 years depending on the program.
Direct med programs allow students to go from earning a BS or BA degree as an undergraduate directly to medical school to earn a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. Gaining admission to these programs is extremely competitive, even for students with a high GPA, test scores, and strong extracurriculars. Some of the direct med programs accept fewer than 10 students.
Starting early, and working with one of our BS/MD counselors to create a clear strategy, will help position your student to have a strong profile that gets noticed by admissions committees. Our experienced counselors have successfully helped over 90% of qualified students get accepted to at least one BS/MD or other direct med program.
Whether your essays need two drafts or ten, we work with you until they truly reflect your interests and experience — no limit on hours.
Successful applicants demonstrate sincere commitment to medicine. We advise on research, shadowing, and internships, and help with your cover letter.
Whether it's one-on-one or an MMI, we help you answer questions about yourself, your interest in science, and ethics and healthcare topics.
SpanOne counselors have worked with students accepted to: Brown University's PLME, Rutgers BS/MD, Penn State BS/MD, Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, Brooklyn College BS/MD, Case Western University Pre-Professional Scholar in Medicine, NYIT BS/DO, California Northstate, and many more.
"As a first-generation immigrant, I had no idea how the college application process worked. Guidance from SpanOne was excellent. Definitely worth the investment. Highly recommend!"
